Meet Larry the lawyer guy

with 4 comments

I read Larry’s dissing of his Mac a few days ago and came close to posting about it.

Giles Turnbull at MacDev has done it for me, and he’s probably been nicer about than I would have been. Larry’s disssing is laugh out loud funny because he’s outed himself as an ill informed nebish when it comes to computers. What’s even funnier is that Larry was published in Law.com’s tech section.

Does no one there proofread? Does no one there actually know anything about computers?

Tell me it’s a parody, please.

ADDENDUM: it’s not a parody. Larry responds on his blog and “welcomes comments.” Why wasn’t this done before writing the article and getting so much wrong?

  1. After your first 10 posts raving about the glories of the Mac, I had the irrational urge to explain that a Mac is like a Unix box you can’t remove the training wheels from. 🙂

  2. That’s probably fair comment too! Then again, I think for the avergae person, unix with no trainign wheels isn’t very useable. Same problem with Linux – which I do want to tinker with some day. Been saying that for years now.

  3. That post was the most uninformed and factually incorrect rant I’ve read in a long time. Amazing that it was posted on an “edited” website.

  4. Incidentally, the term I was looking for but couldn’t remember when I wrote that comment was “the self-organizing principle of the universe.” I’ve seen this referred to a few times lately by Darwinists. I quick Google search turned up this interesting read from the University of Navarra (Madrid?):

The Mind of the Universe: Self-Organization and Divine Action
