Happy New Everyone!

As New Year’s is no big deal in our house, I’m about to turn in, @ 12.10 am. The show’s over, right? [grin]

The other tidbit right now is that I’ve ordered some books from Amazon. I haven’t ordered many books since the summer, when I decided to try some fiction after a long run in the non fiction section. It might just be the blog sucking all of my free time away, but I think I’ve also learned that fiction is just not for me anymore. I loved it as child and as a teen, but I’ll steer clear for the time being. I’ve barely cracked Patrick O’Brian’s Post Captain, and it’s a good book! I’m only half way through Jack Whyte’s Clothar the Frank, and I had two weeks off to get that done.

On the way here are:

“The Face of Battle” by John Keegan

“God and the Philosophers: The Reconciliation of Faith and Reason (Oxford Paperbacks)” ed. Thomas V. Morris

“God in the Dock: Essays on Theology and Ethics” by C. S. Lewis

“No Man Is an Island”
by Thomas Merton

“From the Angel’s Blackboard: The Best of Fulton J. Sheen”

If they any good, parts of them will probably find their way here. Anybody read them? Liked them? I have not read Sheen, Keegan, or Merton before, but they all come highly recommended and I’m looking forward to diving in. Rebecca has ordered two books by Scott Hahn, which I’m also certain to steal and read. If you have ever given any thought to reading Hahn, my advice is to do so! He’s very interesting and very accessible.

G’night all!
